Tribute to New York

April 28, 2020

So… the first time I visited New York, I had these preconceived ideas of how the locals would be, Geuss what.. until I lost that that they were exactly that, standoffish, non friendly and awkward to talk to.  But… when I let go of those and gave my true Texas nature, I found people that wanted to be heard and understood.
In my three trips back, one of which was to attend a five day workshop by Jay Maisel, I found a love for the people and town that can only be described as phenomenal. Once you get under the hood, all is revealed. People have a way of distancing their self from things they don’t understand but I encourage you to think differently, as just they are people with similar problems, dreams and ideas.
I think back about my wandering the streets of New York and wonder how all my new friends that I made are doing in one the heaviest populated states of our world and wonder how they are dealing with this time. I pay tribute to their loss and their struggles with my images and hope for a positive outcome!
