American Beautys
April 5, 2011
I set out Sunday for a wind shot (I mean 100 mile an hour wind, or so it seemed), shouldn’t be to difficult —thought about the bluebonnets at Oaklawn cemetery!
What resulted was my favorite bluebonnet photo ever in abstract way. It kinda suggests that sometimes little pieces of America are neglected by the busy eyes and that beauty exists in everything, even a torn and battered American flag that has stood the test of time next to someone’s headstone and framed the Texas state flower.
The Lensbaby has a gift for twisting light and yielding predictable lens flare, so I think I found my Easter shot. All in all, it was a great evening with the camera, a good workout for the eye and a great feeling for the soul!
