Zoom VS Boom!
January 22, 2023
I have had a huge demand for online classes lately, which would be the ZOOM, Lisa and I made a decision to keep the classes all in person, hands on. That would be the BOOM!
Several reasons for this, One, there are so many amazing photogs doing online Photography classes and workshops that I fell like that market is saturated to the gills. Two, keeping the workshop in person allows me to convey the message in a way that suits my style of teaching. Three, the synergy of a class or group of people can not be felt online but when you have multiple, like-minded individuals all vibing for the same thing, the passion flows like water! Part of the thing that I loved when I was taking classes was meeting all the different people with the same desires that I had and I learned almost as much from them as I did the Teacher.
Teaching in person allows me to continually evaluate my students progress by the energy that they are sending out. There is so much great info online now if you know the terminology, we stress that in class. With twelve student divided up into pairs it easy for three teachers to be right there to show and give examples of the big WHY. I feel like this is really important in our 101 class, which is the building block of your photography for the rest of your life.
The last and the most selfish reason is the Light Bulb, when that goes off in a student, they get it, their face glows and we receive a ahha moment!
