Working with this lady

October 29, 2019

So.. for years I have been a solo act, doing my thing and only my thing. Three years ago I met this beautiful person which I now call my wife, bonus, she’s a photog! We met and she spoke Nikon, what a blessing!

Bring you up to speed slowly, we just finished shooting one of her clients today, large hospital in DFW area, my job today… make sure I’m available when she needs something and keeping her informed and on point. This was the goal of first 1/2 of shoot, next.. I take over with video and we swap roles, she’s there to keep me on point ant helping in every way to complete the total package of work.

I know, Joe Duty, video, what?  Yes, I can do and bills do have to be paid.

The point, I have always operated as a lone wolf, now, a team, what a great transition. covering each other when one is lacking, as we all do at times makes you confident that you will get the shot or job done with teamwork. Same vision amongst individuals with same mindset yields twice the productivity, what a great thing.

shoot…

We start out outside creating a virtual tour of this hospital, move inside shooting the list of required shots from hyperbaric to individual rooms. Three hours later ww are going to lunch with only the video of patient experience interviews left to do. As I take lead at this point, I thought what a smooth transition of roles just took place. During our video I filmed and Lisa asked questions, checked light and gave comfort to our subjects while I focused on the technical side of things from lighting, audio levels  and camera awareness, I could really get use to this, I mean, what a relief to do my job and trust her to do hers, Team effort!

Final..

Six Hours later we walk away with total coverage, a virtual tour of entire complex including drone and three patient interviews. Yes,  still have edits to do but collaboration on that will be inspirational as well, given my experience of working with this lady!

The heart and soul of anything is passion, wether working with someone that is or covering someone that has it. I feel like on this shoot there was both.
