What’s your angle?

Well from time to time we all get average mundane assignments.  No, I’m not talking about the gripping grins, or check presentations, it’s those assignments that can be cool, and you just know there’s something  there.

I’ve mentioned before about not being able to be in the right spot at the right time, light wise, or any otherwise that matter.  And as mentioned before, there are several tools to help make even the most  average of subjects somewhat more interesting.  One of the things I use often is to change the angle, sometimes very subtly, and sometimes totally off the charts, I think that  has to be decided by the subject in front of you.

This photo for instance, by lowering yourself below the bumper, I was able to clean up the background,  define an absolute place, and change the whole composition dramatically.  A lot of friends would disagree with my theory, especially harsh use of wide-angle to achieve your angles change, their argument; that it becomes more about the photographer than the subject.  Again I say anything that works in moderation to achieve a different look, storytelling photo, try it!
