Wait!  Can spring training be a season?  Reading a lot on sportshooter lately about spring training, well our spring training started with the first high school game a couple of weeks ago!  Can’t help it, love springtime in the ballpark!

High school baseball, as with most varsity sports, can be very interesting.  You don’t have the salary issues, or the typical issues that go along with the pro’s, but who’s dating who, and who’s got the baddest ride on campus, can be large issues in a high school dugout.

Baseball maybe one of the toughest sports to shoot and come back with something your proud of.  It takes long, fast lenses, since most of the action is at a distance, and day games a rarity, not to mention my lack of patience, for a lot of the time you’re just waiting for something to happen.  You look off for a millisecond, and the action is over. For me the best shots are not always the action shots; a great reaction is about as good as it gets.

Baseball is known as the thinking man’s game, maybe just because when you think you got it figured out, think again.

Anticipation of the shot, spring sunshine, dugout wisdom, baseball remains one of my favorites!
