Started a blog post in the print version of the Wise County Messenger a couple of months ago call “inside the frame” with the words of Brandon Evans, as described in earlier post.

This particular page has nothing to do with that other than leading me up to this weeks shot.  These images come from the annual Butterfield Stage Days and Rodeo held in Bridgeport, TX.  In previous issues we have run images from across the US obtained from various travel adventures.  This week we bring it back to Wise County.

 A great shot doesn’t always come from distant lands.  Some of them come from our own backyard.  I was reminded of this at the rodeo on Saturday night when I met this shooter from Holland, who was traveling around Small Town, TX  with his family shooting rodeos.  In a heavy accent his words were “It seems like this is what Texas is all about.”  I just smiled because the shoe was on the other foot.  I had been in strange places trying to find a common denominator for my stories and would talk to as many shooters and locals who would share. It was my turn to give back as much as translation would allow and he gave me the fresh energy to look anew at my own backyard for this weeks shot.
