The Year End

January 2, 2010

The last couple of weeks of every year gets pretty busy going back over all the best stories, and best photos of the year. It’s kind of like a trip down memory lane for the whole year. There’s a huge part of this that I really enjoy, looking over my favorites, staff favorites, and weeding them out. Also gives me a chance to look at what I would have done different,  and each photo always gets the question, what can I do to make it better next time?

The difference this year was the way it was built for display on the web. This layout is the genius of the Wise County Messenger web staff. Not quite sure how much time they spent on the layout of this easy-to-read, easy to find information page, but after seeing it on the screen, I can assure you it was worth every minute! I think most of us get lost in our own particular piece of the pie sometimes, whether that may be news stories, photography, or graphic arts or any other part of a newspaper. We forget about the people that never get a byline, but continuously make our work look good! Check out the rest of the goods, the Wise County messenger year in review 2009
