The Oregon Trail
October 6, 2009
While shooting the rodeo in Pendleton, Oregon a couple of weeks ago I stayed with some friends in Walla Walla, Washington about 45 miles away. The negative part of this was the fact that after you’ve been shooting all day, an extra hour drive can seem like forever, but that really wasn’t the case here. it was more of a meditation or a wind down from the day. For most times on the trip to and from the rodeo, the light was just perfect, and the farmers were just finishing the fall harvest season.

On the morning drive, I got to watch the sunrise coming over the Blue Mountains. It was almost as if to erase your slate from the previous day and prepare you for the day to come.

I think every place has its own beauty in some form or fashion. I was just lucky enough to take it in through the lens into the soul, in this one hour road trip relationship to nature.
