The Boss

I think one of the reasons that my wife, Lisa and I work so well together is our ability to let the other lead. We do a multitude of different things in photography, we have hers, mine and our businesses that we have to deal with. Lisa’s Business, Pro 360 virtual tours which she started long before we came together and mine, Joeduty.com as well as ours, texasphotographyworkshops.com. Since photography is our work, hobby and passion, we get up talking about it and go to bed talking about it, that is when we are not shooting or editing.
I think the respect we have for each other’s abilities as photographers and humans lets us lead each other depending on whose job it is. Such was the case the other day, Lisa had a high-end real-estate job in Grapevine, Texas. My role in that particular scenario is to help her get set up for stills and set another camera up for me to shoot panoramas. But today I got today what I do best, roam and look for detail shots, I got to let my creativity out to play for a while. Most of the time we come together about dusk and take our positions to get ready for twilight shots from two different angles, I generally wrap up and put stuff away while she finishes up with the client. Below is a collaboration of both our efforts and talents.
On the flip side, no one is better than taking the back seat on one of my shoots, whether it’s rodeo, portrait session, or teaching a class. I feel like this is the reason our partnership works so well. Below is a collaboration of both our efforts and talents.
