Takin’ it to the streets

April 25, 2010

That was the theme this year for the All-Wise basketball Group.

Great learning evperience this year…. had everything set up with a different background than this, go the day of the shoot, scene no longer there,( should have checked earlier.) oh well, move on, have five hours to find new one.

Remembered the old high school blacktop, checked out, this will work. Second challange, original light now not in shade, change whole light scene, now we have f150 in the middle of evening and two sb 900’s OK no prob, tighten up get flashes closer, can pull off a f16@250, worked out.

Third challenge, get a call late in shoot, last of the ten kids could not make it till the next day. After an hour of setup and take down, and what lookked to be pulled off without a hitch in a little under four hours didn’t happen. Loading up the equipment, having to do the whole thing on deadline the next mornig for one player, my desire was major dampened.

But Luck was on my side the next morning, the light was made to order overcast, had a totally great subject to work with, and she was in no hurry at all to be done. With extra time found new scene that was even better than day before. Lesson learned, never be to unhappy when things don’t quite workout, the Photo Gods may just be shining on you.
