I promised more on running and gunning, oh yes,right in the middle of another full-blown,Getter done, mugshot, fall sports season. This particular time of the year can be very challenging to say the least, with somewhere around 700 mugshots, team pictures, and feature art for  seven schools. Now for the most part it’s just a whole lot of snapshots, but trying to keep it interesting, by throwing a little creativity in can change things  immensely! Challenge is deadline, most of the schools have about 30-45 minutes allotted to get mugshots, team pictures, and hopefully a feature, if there’s time.

I try to use this to my advantage, in the sense that  given a certain amount of time, get as creative as possible. Now you know going in, that there’s going to be trade-offs, and  you’re not going to have the time that you need, but thats were the challenge lies. It’s kind of like holding the balance scales with creativity on one side, and time on the other.

A lot of times when I’m out there  playing, checking light and exposure, waiting on team shots, is where I get my favorites from the shoots, lot of times the kids aren’t even aware that were making photos, we’re just all playing and having a big-time. End result, doesn’t get near as boring, You build a relationship with each Team at the beginning of the season, and hopefully you bring home a couple of cool images that you’re proud of.
