Pieces of the…

…in this case, the good ol’ Wise County Courthouse. On a more metaphoric thought, I would say pieces of the mind.

I’ve recently gone back to the roots of my art, trying to redefine my vision, as well as many parts of my life. The power of the found shot to a photog that’s looking is second to none when it comes to restoring confidence in your work.

So many years I had the thought  that the “find” was just look, see and shoot — which is a huge part — but if your mind is not receptive to the “find” the see part will never happen. This day there was a huge effort to be subconsciously aware of detail in everything.

Starting early and looking at everything as though it were through a viewfinder gives a great power of spontaneous vision when  “it” does present it self. The bodybuilder never reaches a point of not having to train, so should your vision?

Probably read way to much into this and killed the simplicity of the moment in print, but the simplicity did come first — everything else was a afterthought in pieces of the mind.
