According to Gump, life is like a box of chocolates, you just never know what you’re going to get . 

  I have had a lot of calls over the years from readers and people in our community telling me about great shots.  Now some of them weren’t so great, and some of them were truly fantastic. But you don’t know if you don’t go!

 Such was the case with  Amanda’s sunflowers.

Received an e-mail about a lady who had  planted two acres of sunflowers, not expecting much, called her up, and went out to meet her.  Yes, sometimes there is a photographic god!

 I have received calls on everything from chicken plucking, to a white buzzard (that was a total surprise).  After a while you become a little skeptical.  Now not always do you come back with something phenomenal, weird, or different, but again you don’t know if you don’t go! Responding to a call has two purposes, one of which is you hope that the shot is as good as it has been conveyed to you.  The other is the fact that if you don’t go, and something else comes up they may not call you again.

 The great thing about living in a small community, is the fact that your audience does care enough to call you, when something has a potential cool factor!
