How I Spent My Summer Vacation!

August 6, 2008

Actually It’s how I spent Spring Break. I got a chance to spend a week with the legendary Joe McNally in Santa Fe New Mexico, along with 15 other knowledge seeking individuals from all over the world. The Class Was Location Lighting. What a rush!

The object: Learn as much about Lighting; Location Lighting that is in five days, and learn we did, spending 14 hour days shooting, talking, setting up equipment, and learning to relate to the models.

Wow! What a trip, whatever lighting Equp that you needed, it was there, along with the best of the best instruction, and just cool people to hang out with, and the inspiration was flowing like wine.

It doesn’t get much better than These folks; the models on location, beautiful New Mexico weather, 15 people who talked photo, and all my lighting questions answered. To a photo geek, this had to have been the world’s greatest treat.

Now, if all that is not enough, surround yourself with adobe, and the architecture of old,

add some cool people, a few Spanish rhythms,

fine dining and spirits,

and friendly tourists,

all adds up to a smokin time in Santa Fe.
