Has to be one of my favorite impromptu portraits ever. 

Was waiting on a trial shot the other day during jury deliberation as the judge walked by heading back into the courtroom, he turned to speak and I shot simultaneously. Not quite ready for the moment at a 20th of a second with no flash as the camera shake of the door would suggest,but….

Call it Karma or just luck but this seems to happen a lot when I shoot powerful figures or someone I greatly respect and admire such as Judge Fostel. Don’t remember getting this lucky without a flash to stop the action before but the camera shake in the background makes the image work for me. The blown out background actually worked for me in this one, almost as if to say walking into a room of power.

Judge Fostel is way too humble of a guy to spend much time in front of a camera, so I will hang on to this one.
