This year’s track stars that are headed to Austin for the big showdown in the state competition. Every year we do a special series at the paper that morphed from a personal project of mine that I’ve continued to work on for five years. Every year, I try to come up with something a little different but at the same time it focuses on each individual’s character. All these kids are always so great to work with. It must be something about drive and success because it seems to show in everything that these kids do.

This year’s theme was “On The Road To Austin.” And although I enjoyed all seven shoots, my personal favorite was Jordan Ward. As far as the photo, the amount of time and the subject that I was working with, it became my favorite for this year.
