Hands of Time Corporate lifestyle
August 13, 2019
So… The hands always say it all for me. On a recent corporate lifestyle shoot, I found this little gem. It was a very important part of the CEO’s world, and kinda captured his whole mentality towards business. When I saw it, my wheels started rolling about how to incorporate this somewhere. I wanted this shot for me, but also for my client, who was the guy that makes you just want to create greatness.
Through out the shoot I kept thinking of this mindset as every shoot has it’s particular energy. This was one of subtle power.
The idea… capture the employs of a working crew for a financial corporation in their element, eight hours and 1300 shots later I felt like we had captured that… as well as bio portraits, abstracts and candids for a new website launch.
The final set-up shoot came down to one of a display of power in a corporate world while maintaining a humble, open attitude.
I had scouted out a perfect location outside the building in a pre-shoot location scouting and knew exactly what and where I wanted it.
Not without it’s challenges for sure, the first of which was laying on the August mid-afternoon concrete to get the angle, next was the traffic in front of the building, limited time due to building police and overpowering 3pm light. But largest challenge came with the reflections of the mirrored windows. All in all I was happy with the outcome even though there is always something I would do different.
