I got the chance to go to Port Aransas over the weekend to speak at the Gulf Coast Press Association. I was totally amazed at the cleanliness and pristine beauty of this Texas coast! I spent most of the weekend walking the semi-white sands with the new Nikon flagship D4.

Just as in the photos, the difference between it and its predecessor, the 3S, is like night and day!

Decided to work both ends of the spectrum the top shot was done at 800 ISO for maximum depth of field, And 800 ISO in broad daylight is no problem for this work of art!

Rising the next morning, the bottom shot is what I witnessed from my hotel room, (can you imagine waking up to this every morning)?  This was shot at F4 1/30 at 6400 ISO, can you believe it? I would have liked to have had a body in the pool to connect to the human element,  but they’re hard to find on short notice and at 5:30 in the morning!

My mistress consist of a little black box called the D4 with unlimited powers!
