The boyd fireman seems to be walking on smoke in this image. So I came in from the opposite side and saw the smoke drifting and the backlight so I ran around to the other side to create this dramatic shot by looking into the light. shot at a 30th of a second @F 5.6, ISO3200 with a 24-70 lens

I’ve had a lot of people ask me if I do freelance or outside work other than the newspaper. Yes, I have continued to do more and more from portraits to rodeo action and cowboy lifestyle. I work with my wife in her virtual tour business doing lifestyle and aerial work. I also teach photography, a basic class, intermediate and a editing class.  although staying busy I still enjoy anew challange when it comes along. I teach through blog posts or at least give my thought patterns and how I approached a image.

Newspaper is still a love, the stories I get to do and people I get to meet, but I will be doing more freelance and teaching this year. I think we all have a unique perspective and if I can help you with mine, please feel free to contact me.
