Well it’s officially here, the year in sports has begun!

It’s always bittersweet, the lag time is over, your time is no longer your own, but the promise of running the sidelines under the Friday night lights is on the horizon!

Two-a-days always symbolize this for me, the intense heat and the young energy that a new year brings is kinda like a cleansing of the summer in some way. Again bittersweet, the time and hours from dusk to dawn in the heat is grueling but to still be able to endure is always a great feeling!

This year there was a extra bonus, my youngest, Cody came down from the Houston Chronicle to spend a little time with the old man! Cody has come into his own at the chronicle and it was great to watch him come full circle and back to where he started ten years ago. what was the most amazing is the fact that after all the time apart we still pull from the same place we shot from ten years ago, I would look up and we would be pointed in the same direction, what a cool feeling! Welcome home Cody Duty!
