Da Tool!
July 13, 2009
Never did I think that I would be so infatuated with a little electronic box that’s sole purpose was not taking photos. Enter iPhone, now all that has changed (will started changing about two years ago). initially I got it for the voice recording application, (since I seem to have a problem hanging on to information,) just record and send an e-mail.
The best tool comes in the form of a shutter, anything that I have trouble remembering, which gets greater and greater every year, is now stored in a little instructions folder on the phone, (sure beats the hell out of carrying a file cabinet around , don’t laugh, I’ve done it) available for recall with the slide of a finger.
So now for the really cool part, when I find myself without a camera, or just want to make a visual memory of a shot I might want to work on in the future, snap, and it’s stored. (kinda like getting a memory upgrade) and as always, I tend to see a little more intensely, ( looking for a shot) even if it is an Iphone camera.
Now if having a phone, voice recorder, 32 GB hard drive, iTunes, e-mail at your fingertips, Internet service is not enough, just playing with the camera is not bad. In the days of Internet, and websites equality of the image is adequate enough to fill the space. Scary! Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a replacement for a D3 by any means, and just like any tool, it has its limitations, but Pound for pound and dollar for dollar, this has to be the tool of the century!
