A Wise View

Just finished My first book. Ive contemplated the putting together of this body of work for over a year, not much on words, I have kept it simple and visual. After shooting for the Wise County Messenger for almost 20 years, I have sought out every alley, creek and backroad in Wise County. I feel like I melded into this County and town of Decatur, Texas which will always be my hometown no matter where I go.

This book was not created to sell a million copies, it’s more about my respect for these communities and towns of Wise County. Photographing and exchanging energy with the individuals that call this County home.

I would like to dedicate this book to Skip Nichols who recruited me in 2001 and Roy Eaton who made this possible, as well as all my friends and great folks of Wise County.

There are simply too few photographers with the artistic eye of Joe Duty. His photography skills are technically sound, but it is the beauty he sees that makes his photos become fine art.
