Small-town and flags just seem to go hand in hand.  I’ve shot so many flag photos over the years that I’ve created my own folder of  flag shots.

Problem, it’s awfully easy to get caught up in the flags and overuse them. The only reason this worked was that it framed little Nate’s face.

So I guess, the question would be, do you make it the centerpiece, or

do you use it very subtly, to enhance the rest of the mood. Well my personal belief is you let the scene dictate that answer.
