First Class in the Books
January 11, 2022
Started off 2022 with a bang, at least workshop wise! We held our Texas rodeo and lifestyle Workshop this past weekend at the Stockyards in Fort Worth, Texas. We Had seven students ( one of which had to cancel last Minute ) which is perfect for a casual intense learning atmosphere. This was suppose to be a 101 class but the level that all the students brought with them quickly morphed into a 102 class by adding flash and advanced lighting techniques. Emphasis in the class is placed on low-light photography, the world of high ISO and fast shutters to capture the moving action at the Cowtown Rodeo.
Photo by Jennifer Richardson using the pan-blur technique.
Friday Night was low-light street shooting and learning to recognize the light when it presented it self. All the Images below from students.
Not really any time for shooting for myself other than example shots but.. I had the new NikonZ9 so I put it through some paces at the Rodeo Saturday Night, not having to produce, I was able to play and create! Speaking of which, way more camera than I deserve but.. I like it! Nikon decided to move a lot of controls on this one so the only way to become fluid with it is redundancy of use. I have to say after 20 years of new DSLR this was the most intimidating camera I have ever unboxed.
This Camera shoots so Fast, a seven shot hand-held multiple exposure is not a problem!
So for now, gear up for PRCA rodeos, Get ready for lighting and flash class along with editing class and photo walks, Hammer Down!
