Wild in the wind

Every year the rundown to state track opens up a ton of feature shoots. This year we have two pole-vaulters that have a great chance to rock the 3A world. It gave me the chance to tryout my recent upgrade in location lighting, the Acute Profotos with packs — talk about life getting easier.

These little boxes of heaven pack enough power to overpower the sun midday and still give 200 full flashes. If that's not enough, the built in wizards make firing them from 200 feet fast, no problem.

The set up inside or on a still day would have been a five foot octobank, but April in Texas that's not gonna happen — that thing would have taken my little system into the next county before I got off the first frame. I opted to use the beauty dish with one sand bag — it so worked.

Was even able to pull off multiple subjects with decent light from a single light source. Life can be so grand!
