A funny thing happened...
April 27, 2010 at 21:07 ...on the way to a shoot. Actually it was quite common. A lot of the landscape stuff I shoot comes from being out in the County, headed to a scheduled shoot and hopefully headed down a road I've never seen before — that's when the inspiration to "see new"comes.

Such was the case in the above photo... I was traveling down CR3250, middle day, sun overhead, turned a corner — and there it was — Paintbrush hill. I logged the spot in the hazy fog of my remembering place, a little put off with the light not being perfect; finished up the day at about six p.m., noticed the billowy pillows of clouds, so returned I did. All the way back out there, I kept visualizing the shot and what I could add to make it better. It didn't need a thing; sometimes you just need to deal with things as they are.
Although, in my comic book imagination, I would love to shoot a ballerina jumping over the windblown grass with just as much grace as nature had provided here, six foot softbox to camera... oh, another story, another time.
