Grown up kid

I always like to play with erector sets as a kid, hence my fascination with this particular shot.  Just too many lines to pass up!

The new Decatur fire hall, our soon-to-be.  Had been watching the shot for a few days in different stages of erection. My initial plan was a very dramatic backlit sunrise photo, but upon scopeing it out walking the area, I really like the shadow that the rebar cast, adding yet another line, and a little more depth to the photo.

Although not as tangible as the pieces I played with as a kid, the design of the photo works much the same way, by using the light, shadows and lines,  a simple photograph is built.
