Standard angle?

NFR random thought.

It's all about the angle but occasionally everything lines up and the un-standard works. 99.9% of the time all the timed events work better if shot from head on as the animal and contestant come toward you. I was fortunate to get to shoot from behind the bucking shoots ( straighten ) at the finals all performances but two, when I got caught up in the photo well so I had to make the best of it,and with a little luck, slow shutter and great color composition ... it worked.

Steer wrestling has become one of my favorite rodeo events to shoot and this shot reminds me of my favorite story quote of the year:

"This is really not that hard of a sport, basically its just jumping off a horse and tackling farm animals."
