Under Construction!

One of the great things about what I do, is the fact that I get to ride around and look for something interesting, different, out of place, or just a different way of looking at something!  In the newspaper world it's known as "wild art."

Now even as cool as it is, in a small town it's not always easy to find something different or new, so one of the games that I play with myself, is  that I give myself a daily assignment.  You guessed it, today, any construction shot!



It seems like once I give myself a self assignment, it  just kinda rolls around up there forever, like this construction shot that was pulled out of a feature shoot of  the new Wise County Regional Hospital.



Or this one, which was pulled out of a feature shoot from the opening (or almost open, hence the hardhat under ol' Byron's photo) of the new Byron Nelson High School In Haslet, Texas.

Time and time again these assignments have come in handy in several shoots, by just applying knowledge gained from  my own personal mind game.

So I say the mind and eye are always under construction, give it something to build on!
