Rapid reunion!

Those two words go together probably least describe the Wise County Reunion as there's not a slower, more laid back event In Wise County.  It was more or less my plan of attack for portrait night, Tuesday, at the reunion.

Okay so goal is to have workable, soft, simple light.



Solution; SB 900 on a monopod  set to 1/8 power, shot through a small umbrella, triggered by another SB on the camera.  Camera was set to TTL, and since the flash was set to manual, I controlled the light with the apeture, and having the light moved to other away are closer. (Yes old school, but simple and effective) Did I mention the assistant, light stand on command, very important part of moving rapidly, and getting nice soft sidelight. (Great job Tyler)

Problem: With one light, you don't have the control that you would in the studio, or with multiple lights, but it seems to be a pretty nice trade-off, by being able to move through crowds, and  get or save a otherwise lost shot, and leaving the destruction of the natural light to a minimum.

I'll admit it--I do not particularly enjoy Reunion but I always look forward to your pictures from Reunion every year. LOVE the flickr site! :-)
