Beach finds!
June 20, 2009 at 9:45
Ok let me backtrack a little from yesterday. This week vacation started in Santa Maria CA. where my son Jake will be getting remarried To Amanda Estes. Due to early deployment to Afghanistan, they didn't get to have a ceremony last year. From there Julie, (wife) and I will be traveling to Grand Junction CO. by way of Grand Canyon. Sharing what I see, and think, will be my topic this week.
Okay, as always in a new place it's up early scoping it out, what's new, what photographic challenges face me? This morning was no different, except I was blessed with a bonus. Newest friend and newest inlaw, Mike Estes, and my son, Jake decided to tag along. What I wasn't expecting is the passion that Mike has for this place, (Santa Maria) and the knowledge of the area and people. It was kinda like having my own personal tour guide. (By the way Mike, I think you missed your calling). Now as a general rule I prefer to shoot by my myself, because I kind of lose track of time in the travel mode, and most people don't care to wait, but not today, these two guys were up for anything.
I try not to anticipate what's going to be in front of the lens, but I think it's just human nature to pre-visualize. Okay so I'm visualizing sunshine, blue skies, early morning shadows. I get fog, gray skies, even light, that's okay it wound up being a great trade-off.

I enjoyed these photos. I love the seals - I am an animal person! I like the one were you barely see the seals head peekingout and the one were the seal is wanting on the dock where it is not suppose to be - just like a kid!
Thanks Pam,These guys always make me laugh,I can't seem to stop shooting them
