Do you know the way to San Jose?

Was actually looking for directions to Pismo Beach, California.  Have decided after two u turns, that MapQuest pointed out on my phone, (Which is probably user error) that I would put it away when it comes to directions. Now before the days of iPhone, which is made it really easy not to have any intereactions with people, I found that I had made quite a few relationships by asking people for directions. I think the best way to get to know anyplace is through the people, and it's always easy to pick up great photographic knowledge from the locals.

This is Mark who owns a hot rod barbershop (a cross between a beauty salon, and a Harley repair shop) in Slo, So Cal. (As the locals call it). Could've probably found Pismo beach on my own, but would've missed this little gem.

Not quite sure if people sense the travel energy, are just happy to be contributing to your journey, but most people seem very obliged to help. Once had a good friend tell me that most towns are the same, it's the people that are different, much truth.
