Wise County now has the running of the pig!
Decatur track standouts Cynthia Carrillo and Cassie Partridge finished second this week to the swine flu when the UIL decided to cancel the regional track meet in Lubbock, Texas.
This was a shoot I won't soon forget. I couldn't get the pig (well at 300 pounds I guess he would be a hog) to stay where I put him. Idea, have two people, one on each side with SB900's, set exposure on camera, get a low angle, nothing to it right? Have you ever tried to take a photo moving backwards on your knees while trying not to get a bite took out of your D3? Don't ever let anyone tell you a hog is slow. The key to seperating the hog from the background was the flash, and since there was no predetermined distance to your subject, (did I mention how fast this big guy was)? The Nikon flash system allowed me to do just that on the fly on TTL.As for my two VALS (voice activated light stands) Robert and Tyler looked like they had run a marathon by the time we were done!
