Heaven or Hell?

Abstract or Storytelling?  Maybe both, in fact I would say this shot from fire in Balsora,Texas earlier this year, would qualify for both.

Getting to the fire late means not getting past the roadblocks, (in this case was good, since the wind shifted and shoved fire right at us.)  Get out the long glass and hope for a firefighter in the foreground.  Didn't work out here, but just as I was about to relocate for a different angle, the fire took off with a mesmerizing blast.  Steeple in the background gave me the depth, and sense of place I was looking for, and created an interesting composition.  The damage was kept to a minimum by the fast acting Wise County flame killers, and the church was several yards behind the flames, but do to minimum depth-of-field of the big lens, wide open, the shot worked.
